Thaminda Ramanayake, MS, MBA

Thaminda Ramanayake, MS, MBA, is the Chief Business Officer of Affini-T Therapeutics, bringing over a decade of deal-making experience to deliver patient value on a global scale. His expertise includes company creation, in/out licensing, M&A, joint ventures, creative strategic financing alternatives and cross-border transactions. Previously, Thaminda held the position of Global Head of Business Development, Oncology at Sanofi, where he spearheaded strategic initiatives and business development efforts, encompassing research/clinical collaborations, technological advancements, new product opportunities and oncology-focused M&A advisement. Prior to his tenure at Sanofi, Thaminda assumed progressive roles at BioMarin Pharmaceuticals, specializing in rare disease and gene therapy business development and corporate strategy, including Asia-Pacific strategy. He also served as a Global Transactions lead at Amgen, focusing on oncology and immunology business development opportunities. Early in his career, Thaminda held business development and consulting roles at Grant Thornton, Ernst & Young and Empire Valuation Consultants.

Thaminda earned his B.A. in molecular, cellular and systems biology from Berea College and an M.S. in immunology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He also earned his MBA in finance from the University of Rochester Simon Business School.
